Club Outings

Outings and Workshops are held regularly on a diverse range of subjects and locations around our beautiful region.
Below are some activities in which the club and its members have been involved in over the last couple of years.

WACC Road Trip (Ovens Valley) 2014

In April WACC went on a road trip with a destination only revealed on the day (Ovens Valley). Each member had to capture 10 images, 7 of which were a set theme and another 3 were compulsory photos of the 3 location destination points. The images could be taken and processed with the only limitation being their own imagination.
The co-ordinator for this very successful outing was Louise Peacock.

Towong Racers (March) 2014

Those who attended the Club Outing at the Towonga races had the chance to capture some stunning images in perfect weather conditions.

Get to know your Camera Workshop (Bonegilla) 2013

In December club members took the opportunity to get to know their cameras at a Workshop organized by Stan Best (who was unfortunately unable to attend due to illness). It was a pleasant steady as you go type of day.

Chiltern Wildflower Safari 2013.

In September club members under the guidance of David Woolcock, Neville Bartlett and John Organ travelled to the Chiltern Forest to partake in a wildflower macro photography outing and workshop. A great day and informative sessions were had by all.

Polocrosse (NSW Club championships) 2013

Members used this outing to sharping their skills with motion photography in preparation for the 'Paatsch Shield Challenge' coming up in August with the Benalla Camera Club.
The event was the Polocrosse NSW Club championships at the Thurgoona Equestrian Centre.
The co-ordinator for the event was David Woolcock.

The Paatsch Shield 2013 (Winton Races).

A large number of members joined in with the Benalla Camera Club for this outing at the Historic Winton event at the Winton Motor Raceway, a great day with fantastic weather for both days on Saturday/Sunday 10/11th of August.

Getting to know your camera (Night Workshop) 2013

This workshop was held on Thursday the 21st of March and aptly organized by Stan Best and mentored by David Woolcock and Louise Peacock. 15 members braved what turned out to be reasonable weather conditions and an enjoyable night taking photos from the Harold Mair Bridge at the top end of Dean Street. We then moved to the Albury Railway station, photos were taken in and around the Station, while some members joined in on a painting with light session. The co-ordinator for the event was Stan Best and the Mentors, Louise Peacock and David Woolcock.

Portraiture Workshop 2013

The workshop at the Panthers on the 19th of May was a great success with 38 members and Albury/Wodonga Photography Group (Facebook attending. The Guest Speaker Professional photographer Rob Lacey gave an very informative lecture and demonstration on this subject. After Rob's main lecture he was ably supported by club Mentors, Paul, Malcolm along with Mark with the groups rotating through them for hands on workshops.

Falls Creek Trip 2012

In December WACC members expericenced what was to be an annual event to Falls Creek for a weekend stay at the Oldina Lodge and for relaxation and photography.

Albury Dean St Photo Walk 2012

In November WACC members went on a photo walk down Albury's Dean St. It was a fine mild evening and all enjoyed their photography.

Woolshed Falls Trip 2012

Following the Paatsch Challenge Shield presentation and lunch, Benalla and Wodonga/Albury Camera Club members travelled for a photo shoot at the Woolshed Falls near Beechworth where members practised the art of achieving soft silky flowing water in their photographs. (while some were successful there were some interesting photos taken. 'Check out Debbie's effort at the edge of the cliff').
The co-ordinator for the event was both WACC and Benalla Camera Club.

The Paatsch Shield (Amulet Highland Games) 2012

A large number of members joined in with the Benalla Camera Club for this outing at the Amulet Highland Games near Beechworth on Sunday 19th of August.

Norueil Park Photo Walk 2012

On the Sunday (the 24th) although looking like a potential disaster we set out for the walk along the Murray in light mist which disappeared before long and thinks brightened up.
It was interesting to see the varied view points of the photographers at the August meeting.

Chiltern Walkabout 2012

At the invitation of the Benalla Camera Club, on Saturday the 24th members ventured down the highway to join them in Chiltern. Although a little overcast the day proved to be a great success.
We met up with the Benalla Camera Club at the bakery opposite the "red telephone box" for morning tea before proceeding on foot with mixed groups around Chiltern.
A late lunch was held together at the Iron Bark before parting ways. Thanks to Benalla CC for joining in on a pleasant day, hopefully one of many to come.

Bowna Sunset Outing 2012

On a fine evening in March WACC members attended an enjoyed a BBQ and following a Sunset photo shoot on the Bowna arm of the Hume weir

Getting to know your camera (Gardens Workshop) 2012

In February our Mentors put on a camera workshop to WACC members on a sunny day at the Albury Botanic Gardens.
